So, this morning I wake up with two words in my brain, and I had no idea what they meant. Flotsam and jetsam. So I look it up and the Google Machine tells me that they are maritime words to describe a wreck.

Flotsam is floating wreckage of a ship or its cargo. Jetsam is part of a ship, its equipment, or its cargo that is purposefully cast overboard or jettisoned to lighten the load in time of distress and that sinks or is washed ashore - wiki

I do not know where I picked these up, but dreaming about vocabulary words is MUCH BETTER than dreaming about my ex, which is what I've been doing all week.

This post was to remind you all that tw_holidays is still posting fics, and is possibly wrapping up soon? Many many fics have been posted so far, one of them mine (though I can't tell you which one, that would be cheating!). The reveal is January 5th.

But I should also say that snape_potter is still posting fics for Secret Snarry Swap and some of the fics are just magnificent. I haven't had the time to read most of either of these fests, but I will say what I have read has been quality stuff. And yeah, I wrote for this fest too, and I'm floored by the reception my fic has gotten. I have NO IDEA when the reveal is, though. So I will just sit on the link to my own fic for now.

I'm not really doing any actual writing today, since Meg is home. At least I don't think I am. Maybe I will if she goes down for a nap, but she's been fighting naps lately. Which sucks because then she has more seizures later in the day and at night before bed.

I used to be super defensive when I made mistakes, but Jeff Davis takes his defensiveness* to extremes. He deleted his twitter! Wow. Hopefully some time away will help him realize fans only want the show to be all it can be.

*dude named a new character Kali and set about casting for an East Indian actress, only ended up casting an actress who is not. She's brown though, so it's totally cool. People question his decisions and he quits Twitter in a huff.

This is why I don't usually get interested in show runners and actors/actresses.

OH, and the Sterek fans recently sent cookies in order to lure Jeff to their cause**, and since he said 'thanks for the cookies' before he deleted, people think that's why he did so and are blaming the shippers. :(

OMG, Freaks and Geeks is on Netflix! I don't know how long it's been on there, but I've just discovered this today. I am in heeeeaven.

My Teen Wolf first draft is almost finished! But I can tell already that it has Problems with a capital P. I will need betas. Mostly to help me with the pacing, because it's crazily fast paced and I need some advice on how to slooooow it down. Also to cheerlead.

It's not due until the 6th, so no rush on it, just let me know if you'll be available.

I am afraid I am up. I was fighting depression for about two weeks, but now I am up and that means a crash in the future and I'm not looking forward to it. Going to the doc on Tuesday and maybe we can tweak the meds so this doesn't happen. Until then, I'm just gonna deal. Have to. I mean, right now the mood is good, I'm getting things done and can do creative things. So far my head hasn't gotten too full (well, it was getting that way but writing this out has helped) and I don't feel like my synapses are firing too fast. Just fast enough, actually. JFC, I wish I was like this all the time.

A friend is trying to get me into Homestuck. I have links to primers and fic recs! As soon as my brain shuts up about John Watson's manpain I will delve in.

You know that Adele song "Someone Like You"? It makes me sob. Every single time I hear it. I don't even like my ex, why does this affect me so much? I guess my emotions are very close to the surface lately.
