random update

* I had my disability hearing in August and my attorney assured me it went well. I will find out whether or not I'm approved some time in the next 4 months or so.

* went to dentist for exam. abscess was confirmed. choices were given. panic attack was had. appointment for root canal scheduled.

* have been off and on doing vid-type things. mostly thinking about vidding and then converting source.

* finished watching all of Hannibal. that show sucks you in and twists your brain. I read maybe 3 fics before deciding the fandom wasn't for me.

* bouncing around other fandoms for reading. Teen Wolf (Stiles/Peter), MCU (Bucky/Tony), any Highlander (as long as it involves Methos) crossover ever, and Inception (Arthur/Eames) still my favorites at the moment. Though I am following a couple SGA WIPs somewhat religiously.

* ...I just ran out of steam. I wanted to say more in this update but bleugh. :\

Well the paperwork I received said I'd get a decision within 2-6 months of the hearing and it's been almost 2 months already so maybe soon and maybe as long as 4 months from now.

Every single part of this process seems to take forever. And if I get an unfavorable decision at this stage, I can then appeal again, and that decision takes another 18-24 months.

I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD MY MEDS. JFC!

If you win the disability, it will probably have retroactive monies going back to the date that your doctor said you were disabled. That's how it worked for me. Just try to be smarter than I was, and put some of it in savings. :-/

Don't worry about the root canal. They will dope you up just like a filling. Once the numbness wears off, it won't hurt, because there's nothing left in there to hurt! It's like dental magic. (I've had it done twice, and I would much rather have that done that have a giant filling attempted.)

I had a root canal when I was a teenager and I remember thinking 'this is it?' and it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. But the anxiety is separate and harder to deal with than pain.
