getting back to it...

Look at that, I'm writing a novel! I'm stoked.

This is the same novel I started writing in December and scrapped around February. It had some plot holes, or rather, some things that just didn't make sense. It took until now to rework my plot and outline, reconfigure some basic character things, and finally come up with a story that (so far) works in my head and on paper. So here I am, back at it.

If you're curious, it's M/M paranormal romance. Psychics! Mediums! Daddy issues!

For a while, I felt like talking about my original fiction attempts might jinx me, but I'm feeling a little more confident now.

Excellent news! And whenever you need moral support, feel free to come back for that! We're here to cheer you on.

FWIW, I've been entirely more productive with a 'writing buddy' lately. We log onto Zoom (but you can use any screen sharing app) and we do chat for a bit, but then we shut up and write. It's useful to have someone to bounce off the quick question of "what's a good word for X?" as well as a "does this sound right?" without having to fall into a research hole.

We tend to do it for a couple of hours, but even an hour of solid writing / outlining / editing is good.

May or may not work for you; to each their own.
