I write Other journal content: Not much, I tend to use my journals as my writing places, though periodically I'll use them for my Random Ramblings which is basically updates on my fic, life, etc. Something random about yourself: I collect autographs and comic books and have met Gerard Way three times via raffles at San Diego Comic Con, last year I actually won two wrist bands but gave the second one to a poor girl that had like 30 tickets with no winners. I considered it my good karma for the con.
what comics are you into? I started working Wednesdays at a comic shop over the summer, so I've been seeing all the new stuff for ages and trying to figure out what I want to read. I'm a huge Becky Cloonan fan, but that's about all the guidance I have.
I read a little bit of everything, I'm a Superboy/Conner Kent/Kon-El fan so I've been reading Adventure Comics. But for everything else, let's see:
The Unwritten - Highly recommend, like I can't recommend this series enough. It's very Harry Potteresque in a way, if Harry Potter were a real person who's dad had written a series of novels with a main character that has his exact same name, and then vanished. It's pretty fantastical and I've been reccing it up at my Comic Book Store (I also work at one on Wednesday's and alternate Saturday's). Joe The Barbarian - It's an 8 issue mini-series but it's got a really intriguing storyline, I can't wait to see where it goes because the beginning has been something else. Fables & Jack of Fables - I always highly recommend, sort of a modern retelling of the Fables of old if they were actual real characters that had been banished due to a war. Y The Last Man - I loved this series all the way up to the last issue, it was one of the first titles that I went from reading trades to reading the monthly comic because waiting to see what would happen was painful. The last issue left something to be desired, in fact I like to pretend the last issue didn't even happen, but I guess every story has to have a weak point, unfortunately this one's came at the end of a pretty great run. Invincible - This was the comic that got me reading comics again. It's a superhero comic by Image. I absolutely love this and recommend anything by Robert Kirkman, except Walking Dead which I only don't recommend because I haven't read it (I'm not much on the zombie craze unless it's Marvel Zombies and hilarious). Grimm Fairy Tales Presents: Neverland - I only started reading this because I'm something of a fan of Peter Pan (*shakes head* I know). It's been an interesting read thus far, though there's only 2 issues out so we'll see.
If you want more recs send me a message and I'll come up with some more.
I've been admiring The Unwritten's covers for a while now, so I'll definitely check it out after your rec! I'll have to look through the other stuff, too. Several of the titles sound pretty interesting.
