just spent two and a half hours setting up a new phone for my mom and getting all her new contacts in it and everything...

I'm EXHAUSTED from this. she was so anxious about it and over my shoulder the whole time. omg. OMG. I need to sleep for a WEEK now.

She's 81 and I know she can't do it herself, but I hope to god when I'm old I am not completely tech illiterate the way the old folks are today. I gotta keep up with the times! I wonder if by the time I'm 80, we'll all have brain implants that need updating all the time...

oh, my mom made me do that for her a couple of months ago and she just left while I was doing it because I knew I'd get really overwhelmed if she was breathing down my neck the whole time.

That was INCREDIBLY sweet of her. If only my mother had thought of that...

yeah, for all her faults she does at least try to be mindful not to fuck with my mental health. Doesn't always succeed, but at least she believes me, which is not nothing.
