(no subject)

tearing my hair out. the electric bill really fucked me over. and I'm not used to having to buy Meg's supplies, which are expensive, and it looks like this (me buying them with cash instead of her Medicaid paying for it) might last until DECEMBER. And lo and behold, I need more groceries but *moths fly out of wallet*

I'm not sure if this available where you live (or if I've suggested it before!), but our electric utility offers levelized billing. Basically they average your costs and you pay a fixed amount per month. They re-evaluate every six months so there aren't too many surprises. It keeps the summer peaks from hitting us too hard. So sorry you are going through this. If you have a Buy Nothing group you could post an "ask" for food, or if there is a food bank or church food pantry nearby perhaps they could help. None of those services usually require proof of need -- they assume if you're there or asking, you are in need. Hang in there.
