You are in my thoughts since I first encountered your dS fic when I first found online fandom community. Now I am concerned that you say you have no small stores within walking-distance...that's a hard thing for me to imagine (I live in a suburb of the place where Fraser first came on the trail of the killers of his father).
Living in a neighborhood with shops and such sounds so nice! I barely know my neighbors' names or even what they look like (except for maybe two of them) because our houses are a little spread out. I wave at familiar autos that come down my dead-end road if I'm outside, and I usually see a hand wave back, and that's the end of it.
That makes you the second of my fan-friends to tell me they live where the houses are a bit spread out and that they live at the end of a dead-end road. I don't know where you live, but the other fan-friend lives in Oregon.
I know the neighbors directly on either side of me and I know the neighbors directly across the alley. Two of those sets of neighbors are friendly acquaintances and one set has become close friends (like, if we weren't neighbors we would still make it a point to hang out together).
If you comment back to this and it takes me a while -- maybe a LONG while -- to comment back I don't want you to think I've abandoned you in mid-convo. I'm participating tonight and tomorrow in the real-time fanworks-creating challenge over at Firewhiskey Fic and that's where most of my online attention is going to be placed now.
