Ian didn't manage to affect us... much. Except my ex got a tree on top of his house, and my son had been slowly moving into a place... got his books all in (he had lots) and then the new place got absolutely, catastrophically flooded. For xmas and his birthday this year (Dec 17) I'm going to try to replace as many books as I can. (not the ayn rand, though)

wish me luck with that.

Oh noes -- book loss -- so very distressing for your son -- and what a meaningful birthday gift that you will try to replace those books! (BTW, my birthday also is December 17, and I know that on that day I will think back to this post and appreciate the books I still have and think about the ones I lost when we had nearly-knee-deep floodwaters a few years ago.)

He likes Ayn Rand and I can't stand her philosophy at allll so I try not to encourage him in that lol

(Most of my stuff is older, but if I have something he'd like, and it's not an omg, I must cling to it book, I'd be happy to send some along.) (I'm trying to clear some shelves and boxes...)
