I've already said no thanks to like, two different exchanges this year and it's only January 7th. But this is the year where I focus on original work and not go crazy over fandom deadlines. I do want to do Fandom Trumps Hate again, and I'll probably participate in WIP Big Bang. But with the latter, if I don't finish there's really no one to disappoint but myself, and the former gives you until the end of the year to complete your fic(s). And at the end of the year, if I'm feeling it, I'll definitely participate in Steter Secret Santa. But that's the only exchange I'm gonna do. Fests/weeks I'm iffy on but I think I'll take those on a case by case basis.

Wait, I added a whole lot of fannish possibilities on there, didn't I? lol siiiiigh.

I'm gonna have to find a way to tell Bee I can't watch The Untamed. I just know myself too well. If I watch, I'll get obsessed, and I'll have to write for it, and all my dreams of writing the first draft of a book this year will go out the window.

Things I WILL do this year: icons. Ooh maybe that's a good compromise - I can watch The Untamed but I'm only allowed to make icons, not write for it? Ugh I dunno.

Thanks! I don't have the billions of unfinished WIPs I used to have (I have notes/outlines, but I am in a phase of finishing what I start!) but I have a couple that have been lingering for years now and I could use a kick in the pants for one of them. Pretty sure it'll be over 7500 words when done. (oh, yeah. It's over 12K now and needs a lot more added, it's fine.)

Awesome! I'm not sure yet which of my WIPs I'll choose to try to finish. I do have a bunch.

Yeah, everything else my problem is just "there are only 24 hours in a day, and I can maybe write for two of them."

I write for maybe 3 hours out of the day, but one of those hours is spread out over the whole day. the first 2 are when I get up early in the morning before people get up and start demanding my attention.

Some days I can fit in more. (Same thing--if my physical health lets me get out of bed at the "right" time, I have a couple of hours where I can write. Otherwise, it's whenever I can fit it in.) Some days less. But there's definitely a limit, and that time includes editing and other writing-related stuff, too.

Yes, I'm including editing, brainstorming, and plotting under the 'writing' umbrella. :)
