Not my experience exactly, but The Nib's Livejournal Made Me Gay made me smile and think about identity and community.

That first image, of watching QaFUS in the dark, alone, with your finger on the power button? Yeah. I saw that and went 'did this person dig into my head for this comic?' lol

Also not my personal experience but lj did introduce me to a lot more queer people than I'd had previously, though it wasn't until my tumblr days that I came across asexuality. I'm still grateful to lj for expanding my horizons in so many ways, even if it did turn into a shitshow later on.

I just skimmed it. I never watched the us one properly but the uk one was so awesome. I missed it on tv but I got the dvd and remember watching it around the time I was getting counselling at high school (and I may have blushed at having done some of the things Nathan did, albeit with someone my age)

I miss when lj was super active, it was amazing and everyone there was so creative and awesome. Sadly so many vanished into the ether or got deleted or purged. I misss those people and their awesome content.

Yeah, LJ in its heyday was great. There were a few drawbacks, but I got around most of them.
