so...
meg got her casts off! doc tried to move her feet around once they were off, but they still aren't moving the way they're supposed to. so surgery it is! UGH. :( we don't have a date for it yet, but it's going to happen. both legs, cut into the muscles, move stuff around some more, stitch it up, put some casts on over it for 6 weeks, take casts off, go back to the AFOs for awhile, and then... maybe one of these days she'll be flat on her feet.
in related news: we're getting a wheelchair ramp. not just for this surgery stuff, but for mom, too. we could have gone with renting a ramp, which to me sounded like the smart thing to do, but then mom pointed out that eventually we'd need a permanent one for her (since she's pretty much refusing to get her knees done, plus she keeps getting older. we're all getting older.) so mom said she'd somehow come up with the money for a permanent (wood) ramp. at least we know a guy who will do the work and give her a fair price.
