reading actual books

It's been so long since I've read an actual book. A fiction book. That is not fanfiction. It's weird. But now I am reading ebooks! I can actually read ebooks on my computer and I have the ebook reader fixed so that there's space between paragraphs so my eyes don't go haywire.

So I'm reading The Fault In Our Stars and I read half of it last night and I plan on finishing it today. And then I'm going to read something else. Another book!

The last book I attempted to read was Master and Commander, which was good but for some reason I had trouble sticking with it.

The last book I completed was Lord of the Flies, which I read while the internet was off a few months back.

The next book I plan on reading is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children OR Catching Fire. I read The Hunger Games last year and really liked it but I never read the rest of the trilogy.

The funny thing is that I have a million actual books in my room. I pretty much was collecting them for awhile, buying books I wanted to read, but never actually got around to reading. Maybe I'll put them all up on paperbackswap or something. But that requires mailing them. I don't want to mail them. I just want make a little room in my room. This ebook thing is so much less messy.

I now have a Goodreads account (or a new one, since I did nothing with the old one) and I plan on actually using it. Add me as a friend? Especially if you write reviews.

I love Patrick O'Brian's series like nothing else, but Master and Commander is definitely the hardest one of the bunch to get into. It's like diving headfirst into another world and another language, and all the best parts, like the humor and the delightful over-the-top drama, are sort of lost in the shuffle. If you can stick with it, though, the books that follow definitely make it worth the effort!
