It's entirely possible all these fans can be wrong for some of us. I watched both seasons of TW, and I still don't actually like the show. I spent a lot of time yelling at my screen, "WTF am I watching? Why am I still watching this?" (Answer: because I read the fic and felt I therefore had to know the canon.) So even though I love the fanworks and dig some of the characters (and think the cast are all cute as buttons IRL), I have a hard time finding a hook in the source material.
I know you're right, but I'm hoping that they're not wrong for me. I don't know what it was for me, but I did watch the episodes of the first season in rapid succession with no sleep, so I could have just been super cranky by the end of it. I still want to try, though, because there are so many fanworks that I'd like to read, but I don't know who anyone is. I was calling Derek 'the Hot One' up until twenty minutes ago.
