I got through my first day of school!

...and finished all my homework. I can't believe it took me so long to do all the reading. And I didn't understand a word of my Bio reading. seriously, so scared now. :\

but anyway, I only cried twice. (during class. I managed to hide it, I think)

also, I learned that this semester I need to do 30 hours of class observation at a local K-12 school. I need 'professional' clothes. I think I have one outfit that fits that description, two if you count the dress I use for funerals. (I'm not actually counting that.)

I don't know what else to say. I'm totally wiped out. So many people. And walking around the campus. And so many people!

Wow, you finished your homework very quickly! You rocked the homework. Usually it's about an hour for each credit hour, though some say 3:1 hours:credit hours per week.

If I were in your shoes for the biology, I would make a vocabulary list of all the new words in the reading with definitions of each word--because that's how I learn things, and that might or might not work for you. Some folks are more visual. If it's just words and their definitions, it's not intimidating big science.

You're doing classroom observation in the first semester of school! That seems a little unreasonable--is that set in stone? I mean, the part about it being this semester, not the requirement to observe. Who is setting up the observation for you?

Yay! I'm sure it will get less overwhelming.

Biology usually starts out with the hardest part and gets easier.

If the bio is confusing, you could pick the most confusing words and read about them on wikipedia? The text there might be less confusingly-written than the text in the textbook.

Go, you!

The first day/week is always the hardest. But it seems you're settling in well! I've never finished my homework the day I got it. ;)

If you don't understand the reading, go to the TA or tutor and ask them for additional explanation. Also it helps to have a study group. Don't worry, there are loads of other people who won't understand it--in my experience, the reading's always harder than the lectures. *hugs*

Go you! Learning the vocab for anything new is half the battle. My non-fannish friend who reads my journal still has to ask me to explain what I'm talking about in non-fannish words a lot of the time. She doesn't even get \o/ and I've explained Paul Gross to her more than once. *g* (She doesn't get *g* either.)

First day over and done with and it sounds like you did splendidly! Homework done the same day? Something I never managed ;-)
