heyyyyyy

Making icons and trying to not fuck up text today. Also writing a sentence every hour or so, but hey! It's writing.

What are your favorite lines from poetry or songs? I need inspiration for my icons. Leave me good ones! ♥

I was just looking for a poem for work today, and googled around until I found this famous one by Mary Oliver. I also really love a lot of the lines in "Leaves of Grass," especially the part about the letters dropped in the street. And some other stuff.

Linkin Park: "the only thing worse than one is none"

And since I was reminded of it by the previous comment: Walt Whitman: "the float and odor of hair"

here are some random verses I like:

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.
~Sonnet XI, Pablo Neruda

Some say you will fall
in love after sucking them
dry,

that if you cut through
their center, the sea will
open in your veins.
~Pablo Neruda Lemons, Kelli Russell Agodon

Tonight, by the freeway, a man eating fruit pie with a buckknife
carves the likeness of his lover's face into the motel wall. I like him
and I want to be like him, my hands no longer an afterthought.
~Little Beast, Richard Siken
