What is it with fandom and attention whores? Does everyone have ADD these days or does fandom draw in an incredibly large amount of people with autistic traits? I seriously wonder whether they don't give a damn that they're pushing their own selfish little problems onto others or actually cannot perceive their self-absorption at all. That's a basic trait of autism.


...I lost my cool. a little. I don't think I'm out of line, though.

lol, man, this is srsly so ridic. Does she really think the DW admins are going to do anything? Has she read the Diversity Statement page? If anything, they're either going to sit back and lol at her or agree with you and pretty much do nothing. Especially since it wasn't a mob or a unified attack or whatever else she thinks it is. The only problems in the ENTIRE post + comments was her ableist language and her refusal to listen. >:(

Yes, exactly. I know I was not thinking with a clear head while I was arguing with her, but I think I did make my point. She's just being lol defensive. Which I would have done myself in my first year or so of fandom. But I don't feel bad for her, because HOLY SHIT IS THAT POST ABLEIST.

Back when I was 14/15, I totally had similar arguments where I was defensive and didn't listen AT ALL and got butthurt, so I get where she's coming from, I guess, but... I was barely a teenager? And I realize now what an asshole I was, which is what she's being now. And she doesn't realize it. Or, you know, doesn't care.

Also, I really love that message in her sticky post. "I don't have to be nice! I have opinions! I welcome opinions! BLAH BLAH I'M AGAINST THE CULT OF NICE" and then people call her on her shit, and suddenly she is being mobbed, Green. MOBBED!!!!!!!!

MOBBED BY A TOTAL OF FOUR PEOPLE. Kat, I've been in Harry Potter fandom. This person hasn't lived to see a mob.

But yeah, defensiveness. I understand it, but it doesn't make me any less angry. >:(
