(no subject)

I really want to write something today, but my brain isn't working at all.

I went back through the last round of drabble/ficlet prompts you guys gave me, but nothing is helping.

I really just want to bury myself in fic reading, but that really doesn't help my creativity at all. No idea what to do now. I want to wriiiiiiiite, but ugh. UGH. Maybe I'll make icons? Haven't done that in awhile. I want to do SOMETHING creative, because if I don't I will sink into the PITS OF DESPAIR - I've been numb for awhile, or possibly depressed without really recognizing it as depression, but right now I feel like I'm grasping at things to make me feel human again.

Any help/suggestions? Or whatever.

I hate it when I get that feeling, like I really really want to make something but my brain won't actually let me make anything. It's horrible.

The comments above have the suggestions I'd have made.

(If I try things and they don't work, I usually end up taking a walk -- just doing *something* so I don't feel so horrible at the end of the day. Good luck.)

I'm late with this, but it if helps at all, here is a writing exercise I use a lot when I'm blocked and frustrated. Basically, you write 51 sentences, but each one has to follow a specific rule -- to repeat one word from the previous sentence, for example, or to include parentheses. I like it because by focusing my inner critic entirely on the structure, I can do pretty much whatever I want with the content.
